iCT is a test that uses X-ray transmission to make images. After being processed by high-end computer programs, the individual organ/tissue data can be presented as 3D images. Millions of pixels of sharp resolution images can clearly depict the anatomical structures of the lungs and heart, and further confirm the locations, sizes as well as surrounding invasiveness of the lesion or tumor.

The doses of radiation have been significantly reduced in advanced CT technology. The sensitivity of low-dose chest CT is up to a 3 mm tumor, which is considered the most effective early detection tool for lung cancer.
