Notes before the health examination

  • What are the precautions for MRI test? How long does it take?

    1. You do not need to fast before an MRI test. However, we suggest you not to be too full to feel comfortable lying on the examination table. If the health examination program contains blood tests, please fast for 8 hours before the test (the fasting time depends on the descriptions stated on the appointment note).
    2. Please put on the test clothing we provided to you and remove all the following belongings before the test, including metal objects, active dentures, contact lenses, hearing aids, wigs, watches, bracelets, bank cards, credit cards, etc.
    3. To prevent adverse events, please inform our medical staff in advance if you have or had the following situations: Brain surgery due to angioma, currently using pacemaker or mechanical heart valves, or at the 1st trimester of pregnancy. A complete MRI test including the examination and results interpretation will take approximately 3.0-3.5 hours.
  • If I have taken long-term medications for my chronic illnesses, do I need to discontinue the medication temporarily on the test day?

Because the health examination programs chosen by individuals may vary, in addition to the pre-test notes we send to you, you are welcome to contact us for any test-related queries.

    1. For patients under long-term medications for their chronic illnesses, especially patients with hypertension, diabetes and heart diseases, there is no need to discontinue the original medications for the test.
    2. Patients may take their medications as usual in the morning on the test day, except patients with diabetes should take their medications AFTER the blood test sampling. In order to comply with the guidelines of fasting (no food and water) before the test, the water amount for taking medication should be limited to the amount for swallowing the drugs at once.
  • Is the health check important? What are the advantages?

Modern people are suffering from physical and psychological burdens due to stress, unbalanced diet, living habits, heredity and other reasons, which increase the risk of chronic diseases or cancer.

In addition to checking the physical condition through professional equipment, the health check can also find out the potential risks of the body and take preventive measures against diseases that may occur in the future.

If the disease is found after a health check, early detection and early treatment can also be achieved! For example, according to the National Health Agency, the five-year survival rate for early-stage cancer can reach more than 80%.

  • How often should the health check be checked?

  • Should I have an empty stomach before the health check? Can I drink water?
