Liver scans protect you from asymptomatic hepatitis!

The liver, gall bladder, pancreas, spleen, and kidneys are important abdominal organ systems in human body. Among them, liver is responsible for detoxication. If the degree of liver inflammation is beyond the level of repairable, it may develop liver cirrhosis in combination with hepatic coma, ascites and liver cancer in a long term.
Hepatitis is a type of liver disorder with hepatocyte damages resulted from liver inflammation. The causes to hepatitis are various. Hepatitis caused by viruses is called viral hepatitis. Five types of viral hepatitis have been discovered at present, including hepatitis A, B, C, D, and E.
Types of liver cancer    Symptoms
Hepatitis A    Approximately 2-6 weeks of latency, accompanying nausea, anorexia, fatigue, jaundice, fever, and epigastric pain.
Hepatitis E    Symptoms are similar to Hepatitis A, but it is a self-cured acute disease.
Hepatitis B, C and D    Mostly asymptomatic, determined only through blood tests. Symptoms are similar to Hepatitis A without jaundice. Hepatitis B and C may develop into chronic hepatitis or even become the primary cause of liver cirrhosis and liver cancer.
The primary measure to prevent from developing hepatitis is to keep good personal hygiene, avoid unnecessary injections and blood transfusion and receive regular laboratory tests. For those without anti-hepatitis antibodies, please accept vaccination. Patients with hepatitis require proper protein consumption to facilitate hepatocyte regeneration and avoid consuming food containing preservatives, artificial colors, and spices. They are recommended against following folk recipes or taking over-the counter drugs. Moreover, regular follow-up visits by complying with physician’s instructions, routine liver function tests (e.g. liver panel, serum alpha-fetoprotein) and liver ultrasound or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are also required.
Fatty liver is a condition wherein excessive fat accumulates in liver cells and thus results in liver dysfunction. Most of the patients are asymptomatic. They are aware of the condition through ultrasound examination, which is one of the important preliminary pathological conditions of liver fibrosis and liver cirrhosis. The common causes of fatty liver are long-term alcohol abuse, obesity, hyperlipidemia, and diabetes.
